The Port of Whitman County (Port) invites the submittal of written proposals from qualified firms, or teams of firms, interested in providing a planning study to analyze feasibility for a mechanical and materials engineering tech transfer building space that would allow technology transfer to flow from Washington State University to a building where successful projects in laboratory environments could be tested on a larger pilot scale. The Port intends on issuing one contract from this solicitation The Port does, however, reserve the right to modify the submittal date as circumstances warrant Whitman County is a primarily agriculturally based community. The Port of Whitmans Pullman Industrial Park houses the technology transfer from WSU that Whitman County has retained over the last twenty years. It is part of the Port's strategic plan to continue its efforts to provide family wage employment opportunities by retaining more of the researchers and entrepreneurs from within the university. This project is part of the Port's plan and the regional efforts of the Palouse Knowledge Corridor, as well as consistent with local and applicable state planning requirements.
