This contract consists of a base bid and alternate bid. Both the base bid and alternate bid involve the furnishing all materials, machinery, equipment, tools, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision required to construct the improvements to Norton Pond as shown on the Contract Drawings and specified herein. The work under the base bid consists of but is not limited to: mobilization, traffic control, installation and maintenance of Erosion and Sedimentation Controls, demolition, clearing & grubbing, grading, and installation of a new micropool and outlet structure. The work under alternate #1 consists of but is not limited to: mobilization, traffic control, installation and maintenance of Erosion and Sedimentation Controls, pond dredging, storage and disposal of dredged material, and landscaping. Each bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the Bid amount payable to the Northampton Township along with an Agreement of Surety certifying that the required Performance and Payment Bonds will be provided to the Bidder. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish proof of insurance and bonds for Performance, Payment, and Maintenance in such form as meets the approval of Northampton Township and having as security thereon such Surety company or companies as are approved by Northampton Township. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 10/13/2022 4:00 PM This project is subject to applicable provisions of Act 422, Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act as amended and the prevailing minimum wage rates issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. The successful Bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. This project is subject to applicable provisions of Act 127, Pennsylvania Public Works Employment Verification, as amended. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of the bids. Northampton Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or parts thereof, and to accept the bid, which it deems, in its sole judgment, to be in the best interest of the Township.
