The Contractor shall furnish all necessary equipment, supervision, labor, transportation, tools, and incidentals as required for satisfactorily performing snow and ice removal services for parking lots, entrance road ways, sidewalks and walkways during winter storms events as stated herein for the VDOT. Snow shall be piled in such a way that snow will not fall back onto sidewalks, steps, roadways, parking lots. VDOT will direct contractor on snow piling locations that are less obstructive for VDOT. See Attachments for specific site maps identifying areas to be plowed, shoveled, treated and cleared. All work shalt be performed following the direction given by the Contract Administrator, or designee. The Contractor's equipment and personnel shall be in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, manufacturer's recommended procedures, industry standards and codes including OSHA and VOSH Standards. Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Donna Backe at donna.backe@VDOT.virginia.gov. VDOT reserves the right to inspect any equipment submitted on the certification form prior to award, and any time after award. Bidder must have equipment (truck, plow, spreader, Skid Steer Loader, snow blower, backpack snow blower) available for VDOT inspection within ten (10) calendar days after VDOT's request for inspection. At time of inspection, Contractor shall express to VDOT representative that equipment is operable as intended and receives an acceptable VDOT inspection - See Attachment VDOT inspection form or similar form will be used. After commencement, modification or substitutions for the equipment listed in the certification may be permitted with the written permission of the VDOT Contract Administrator or designee. Equipment substitutions permitted by VDOT may be inspected. At VDOT's sole discretion, VDOT may reject any equipment that does not meet VDOT's requirements for use and/or safety.
