Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Petersham, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Demolition and replacement of the existing steel beam bridge conveying Quaker Drive over Moccasin Brook MassDOT bridge P-08-008 (68Y), with a prefabricated steel bridge. The work consists of demolition and replacement of the existing steel beam bridge conveying Quaker Drive over Moccasin Brook with a prefabricated steel bridge supported on a prefabricated concrete abutment system. The work also includes partial demolition of the existing concrete faced stone masonry abutments, localized repair of remaining existing abutments, and removal and replacement of the existing roadway surface and existing guardrails over the structure. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form Bidder is not required to conduct any subsurface testing, or exhaustive investigations of Site conditions.
