Renovation of an educational facility in Washington, Vermont. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

CVSU is seeking a Mechanical Contractor to upgrade the Washington Village School HVAC system. This work includes the replacement of existing oil fired boilers with new high efficiency boilers, replacement of all classroom ventilation systems with roof mounted energy recovery units, installation of new fin-tube radiation, cabinet unit heaters, exhaust fans and upgrading the current stand alone controls to a centralized DDC building management system. The Central Vermont Supervisory Union invites interested Mechanical Contractors to submit a Letter of Interest and Pre-Qualifications for School Board determination of eligible prospective project bidders. The CVSU Board of School Commissioners has established pre-qualification criteria which a contractor must meet. The criteria and the full Request for Qualifications document are available upon request. All firms submitting a request for pre-qualification determination will be notified, in writing, 30 days or more prior to the proposed bid opening. The Board of School Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all submitted Pre-Qualifications, to re-advertise, and to waive any and/or all informalities. December 14 - CVSU board approves pre qualified contractors December 15 - Issue RFP bid packet February 8 - CVSU Open Bids/Board Approves HVAC Project Central Vermont Supervisory Union (CVSU) is requesting bids for an HVAC upgrade at the Washington Village School. The scope of work includes: Replacement of all the classroom ventilation systems with roof mounted energy recovery units. This will include ductwork modifications as well as new gas piping. Replacement of existing oil fired boilers with new right sized high efficiency boilers. This includes boiler room piping modifications and new gas piping. Addition of perimeter fin-tube radiation in areas where replacement of the ventilation systems required supplemental heat. Replacement and addition of cabinet unit heaters. Replacement of existing roof mounted exhaust fans. Upgrading the current stand alone controls to a centralized DDC building management system which will tie into CVSU's current Automated Logic DDC platform. Add Alternate #1 - Classroom Fan Filter units, designed to increase the classroom air changes per hour (ACH) to 6 ACH Add Alternate #2 - Office split system air conditioning in the main office area Testing and Balancing to be carried by the mechanical contractor PRE-QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: 1. An established firm that can demonstrate a clear and stable organizational structure. 2. Hold certifications, licenses (in the state of VT) and/or registrations appropriate to the work to be performed. 3. Demonstrated experience or expertise with K-12 or institutional related projects of similar scope and size. 4. Sufficient financial capacity, including the ability to secure performance and payment bonds for contracts $500,000 or more. 5. A construction load that will not interfere with the company's ability to perform the work in a safe, timely and adequate manner of quality. 6. Positive references from credible and knowledgeable sources. 7. Demonstrated ability to comply with all municipal building codes. 8. Demonstrated ability to meet other School Board criteria specific to the qualifications of the contractor to perform the work required in a timely and adequate manner. 9. Proven ability to maintain past project schedules. 10. Quality of workmanship. 11. Track record of fairness on change orders after the bid and during the construction phases. 12. Proven ability to maintain safe working conditions. 13. Proven ability to safely and efficiently work in occupied facilities. 14. Proven ability to close out project after reaching project substantial completion. 15. Proven follow-up on completed projects. 16. Willingness to return to correct warranted items.
