Emergency Generator Upgrades: Schuylkill Valley High School Schuylkill Valley Elementary School Schuylkill Valley Middle School Bids for the above project are invited in the following contract category: Contract No. 1 - Electrical Construction During the bidding period, questions regarding the project should be e-mailed to the attention of Todd Bensinger at tbensinger@eiassoc.com. Bids shall be submitted in printed form to the Owner as identified below and shall be mailed or delivered to Owner and be received no later than time stated above. Oral, telephonic, facsimile, e-mail, or telegraphic bids are invalid and will not receive consideration. Except as provided by law, bids shall be irrevocable for sixty (60) days after bid opening date, unless award of contracts is delayed due to required approvals of another governmental agency, sale of bonds, or the award of a grant or grants. If so delayed, bids shall be irrevocable for one hundred twenty (120) days in compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Code. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a certified check, a cashier's check or a bid bond of an approved Surety Company in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid. Check or bond shall be drawn in favor of Schuylkill Valley School District. Notice is given that this construction work for which bids are being solicited constitutes a public works project subject to applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended and supplemented. Appropriate prevailing minimum rates, as promulgated under provisions of said Act, must be paid by contractors in connection with performance of the necessary work. Notice is also given that this project is subject to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, the Act of October 27, 1955, P.L. 744, as amended and supplemented. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof and to waive, at his discretion, any or all irregularities, mistakes, omissions, or informalities relative thereto. SCHUYLKILL VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL 929 LAKESHORE DRIVE, BERKS COUNTY, LEESPORT PENNSYLVANIA 19533 SCHUYLKILL VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL 114 ONTELAUNEE DRIVE, LEESPORT, PENNSYLVANIA 19533 SCHUYLKILL VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 62 ASHLEY WAY, BERKS COUNTY, LEESPORT PENNSYLVANIA 19533 . Work to include upgrade of the emergency generators and associated systems and equipment at the Elementary School and the High School. The existing diesel-fueled generators serve life safety loads throughout their respective building. 2. The generators shall be replaced with natural gas-driven units in outdoor soundattenuated enclosures to be located on concrete pads currently occupied by chillers being removed under an existing project. 3. The generators shall be sized to accommodate the existing life safety tier loads, and additional "normal optional" tier loads including the new boilers and associated pumps for freeze protection, building IT server closets, and respective IT closet cooling loads. 4. Several IT closets do not currently have cooling, therefore assumptions have been made to generator loads to incorporate estimated cooling loads in the future. HVAC loads not currently supporting these closets is not included within the scope of work. 5. The Middle School is equipped with two (2) natural-gas driven generators. Replacement/upgrade of these generators are not included in this scope of work; however, the design of feeders/circuits associated with IT closets is included. Owner has noted that the generators are sized to be able to handle the added IT closet emergency loads. 6. Removal of 2 existing +/-10,000 gallon above-ground fuel oil tanks, including fuel present at the time work proceeds, and all associated piping and electrical equipment
