Bid for roof replacement, soffit & fascia for the property located at 931 23rd Avenue, Rock Island. The City of Rock Island is requesting bids from contractors for a rehabilitation project at a house located at 931 23 rd Avenue. This owner-occupied property will be undergoing rehabilitation using Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds to ameliorate deteriorating and deteriorated conditions. All work shall be subject to HUD 35.930 and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations Remove the existing roof. Check for any damaged sheathing or sheathing with gaps larger then 1/2 ". Install new 2" white style D roof edge. Ice and snow guard along the bottom edge of the roof covering at least 12" above the outside wall below. Install approved water barrier through out the remaining roof. On the shallow pitched roof a rolled roofing product will need to be installed instead of standard shingles. Cut open up the ridge for a shingle over ridge vent system per manufactures instructions. Install a 30-yr architectural shingle of the homeowner's color choice. Install new plumbing vent boots and split ring flashing boot for the mast. Install chimney flashing with counter flashing. Remove the gutters carefully as they will be cleaned and reused. Replace rotted fascia boards as needed through out the house. Installed white break metal over all the fascia and rakes. Install either soffit panels with F channeling or incorporated the soffit into the break metal fascia. Install the gutters securely to the roof using the correct fall to insuring proper water drainage. Reattach downs to the gutters using white self tappers. A permit is required before any work starts.
