Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Hudson, Iowa. Completed plans call for the expansion of a primary / secondary education facility.

Masonry addition to the west side of the high school consisting of a competition gymnasium, locker rooms, administrative offices, and CTE space. The renovations include new ceilings, lights, flooring, painting, windows, and HVAC heat pumps. Renovations to the current media center to become 3 Innova-tive Classrooms, and other related work as indicated in the drawings and specifications. The project is located at 245 S Washington St, Hudson, IA 50643 1. Furnish and install all required materials to provide a complete system per the Specification Sections included in each Bid Package. 2. All work in this bid package shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and local codes. 3. Provide all layout as required to complete this scope of work. 4. Each bid package is responsible for replacing/repairing anything they damage such as footings, anchor bolt settings, paving, polished concrete floors, and other building components, etc. 5. Each prime contractor is responsible to supervise any and all subcontractors under that specific bid package. 6. Provide daily jobsite clean-up. Contractor shall be required to keep the building site and surrounding areas clean of their construction debris, on a daily basis. Good housekeeping and jobsite cleanliness is a must. Haul all non-hazardous debris to dumpster provided by Construction Manager. Contractor shall be required to thoroughly clean building area and site upon completion of contract work prior to close-out and final payment. It is the Prime Contractor's responsibility for disposal of all their own hazardous waste and excess materials. 7. Assume full responsibility for protection and safekeeping of products, materials, and equipment to be installed under this contract throughout construction until building turnover. Contractor is also responsible for protection and safekeeping of own tools, equipment, office trailer, etc. 8. All contractors responsible for all hoisting, scaffolding, unloading, storing, security, material handling equipment, temporary protection, enclosure protection, rigging and final placement of material and equipment supplied under this scope. This also includes the unloading of delivery vehicles. 9. All contractors agree to perform any premium time or shift work necessary to maintain the construction schedule. If the delay is caused by this contractor, the expense shall be paid by this contractor. If the delay is caused by others, the expense shall be paid by others. NO additional costs will be incurred by the project. 10. Firestopping for entire project to be provided by Bid Package #4 General Construction. 11. All contractors acknowledge the required PPE on the project includes, but is not limited to the following items: a. Hard Hats. b. Hard sole, hard toed shoes or boots, with leather uppers. c. Shirts with minimum three (3) inches over the shoulder sleeves (no tank tops or sleeveless shirts). d. Long sleeves shall be required when welding. e. Full length trousers shall be worn at all times, no exceptions (no shorts or cutoffs). f. Full face protection where required or posted, i.e., grinding, burning, etc. g. Ear and eye protection when required in area so posted. h. Fall protection when required. i. Air packs or proper ventilation for breathable air when and where require 12. Testing services will be provided by the Construction Manager. Installing contractor shall cooperate and coordinate the testing with the Testing Agency. Additional testing resulting from non conformance or deficiencies are the responsibility of the installing contractor. 13. Protect finish floors from oil, grease, and damage. No threading or cutting machines will be allowed on a finish floor surface. Any lifts on a finish floor surface shall use non-marking tires and ensure no leaks come from equipment, otherwise protection of the floor must be in place prior to using lifts on a finish floor surface. Finish floors include polished concrete and sealed concrete floors. 14. General temporary lighting will be provided by the Electrical Prime Contractor. Additional temporary or task lighting and power distribution will need to be provided by each prime contractor. 15. Prime Contractor shall provide, at their own expense, the following temporary facilities and construction measures for personnel and environmental protection: a. Drinking water. b. First aide supplies. c. Fire Extinguishers for fighting special combustible material. d. Barricades, warning signs and lights. e. Environmental protection. f. Back-up alarms on all moving equipment. g. Temporary office trailer/storage vans and/or tool storage. 16. Prime Contractor is responsible to remove all of their temporary facilities, excess construction materials and equipment, and leave the area in which work is accomplished, clean and in satisfactory condition and repair. 17. If work might expose the jobsite to hazardous chemicals, Prime Contractor shall submit written notification of the hazardous chemicals and proper safety precautions. This notification shall be done prior to any work starting. Further, Prime Contractors are responsible for training their employees on hazardous materials per Federal and State of Iowa "Right To Know" regulations and standards. a. Prime Contractor shall control storage, dispensing, and disposal of empty containers under EPA and OSHA guidelines. b. No hazardous materials can be brought on site without proper submittal of SDS data sheets and written permission from the Construction Manager. 18. Prime Contractor shall be required to strictly control any and all hazardous materials as defined by OSHA and EPA. 19. Prime Contractor will be required to have an on-site, trained, competent first aide person and an identified first aide station. will then be acted on by the Board of Education at their meeting on the 17th day of May 2023 at 5:00 p.m. for their consideration and action. Board meetings will all be held in the Hudson Schools District Office at 136 S Washington St., in said City
