The contractor shall do Base and Top/Overlay on the roads listed. All hot mix shall meet State of Vermont DOT latest specifications. There will be no more than 10% recycled asphalt and no asphalt shingles in the mix All shim and overlay will have tack. 1. The contractors shall pave the following roads: Name of Road Length X Width - Depth Dover Hill Road section1 5280 x 24 2" Dover Hill Road section2 3150 x 24 2" Burchard/Abroad Road 1290 x 22 1.5" Crosstown Road 5100 x 22 1.5" Country Club Road 4225 x 22 1.5" Tannery Road 2000 x 22 1.5" Valley View Road 2112 x 22 1" East Dover Road 600 x 22 1" East Dover Firehouse parking lot. 2. Please Include costs of Milling as Dover Hill sections 1-2 will need to be milled to a depth of 2" prior to paving. 3. Town of Dover will supply trucks for milling work. 4. The Road Commissioner will mark all roads before work begins. 5. The contractor will provide Rollers, sweepers, signs and traffic control for paving operations. 6. All shim coats will be at least 1" minimum 7. All driveways will have a 2-foot apron. All intersecting roads must make a smooth transition both off and on roads. 8. The contractor must sweep all shimming and overlay work. 9. The materials used for All overlay will be 3/8 inch asphalt. (For this bid 1/2 " asphalt shim may be used on first 1" Dover hill road. The top coat of 1" will be 3/8" asphalt) 10. The contractor must use two rollers when paving 11. Equipment used by the contractor must be approved by the Road Commissioner and maintained in satisfactory working condition at all times. The Town Point of Contact is Commissioner Travis Briggs. The contractor will be assessed $500.00 per day penalty for each calendar day after that until completed 15. Asphalt Escalator Clause: Due to the volatility of the liquid asphalt market, the winning bidder can apply VAOT formulas to hot mix asphalt items under this contract. The base price per ton will be adjusted according to the posted price on the VAOT website. Note: (base price could increase or decrease with this clause). The vendor must give notice to the town if said clause will affect the bid price per ton. At that point a written agreement with the new price per ton must be in place prior to exercising the escalation clause and the beginning of said project.
