The Underground Storage Tank (UST) at the Police Department is a single walled tank and piping system that does not currently have secondary containment in case of a spill or leak. In 2014, Senate Bill (SB) 445 changed the underground storage tank (UST) regulatory program regarding design and construction of USTs. This change requires that all single wall UST's be taken out of service by by December 31, 2025, and replaced with a double wall system that meets current regulations. Due to the extensive permitting process and the supply chain delays in obtaining a new, double walled UST, it is recommended that this project begin within the next year, to in order to meet the December 31, 2025 deadline. This project is included in the City of Pleasant Hill's FY 2024-2027 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of March 25, 2024, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available.
