Our understanding of the project is based on the exhibit provided by Ensign Engineering, the Grading and Drainage Plan (Sheet C-300) prepared by Ensign Engineering (print date October 3, 2023), as well as information provided via communication with Mr. Koby Morgan, P.E., of Ensign Engineering. The projectsite is a rectangular-shaped area (about 2.9 acres), located north of 7800 South and East of Airport Road, within the existing airport facility. We understand that the Utah National Guard (UNG) is considering a number of improvements for the project area, which includes developing the subject parcel into a parking lot with a number of related improvements, including a new guard house on the north entrance. We understand that the center area will be used as a parking lot for passenger vehicles and potentially military vehicles (i.e. large, heavy transport trucks). Furthermore, a new storm water detention basin (underground galleries) is planned on the southern end of the project area. We understand that finished grades will be between zero to four feet above existing grade; maximum fills will be on the northern and southern extents, with minor cuts at the west-central portion of the site.
