Site work for a water / sewer project in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project includes the furnishing of materials, erection, and installation of new steel chain link fencing including gates, barbed wire, and all incidental work necessary for completed fencing work. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City. The City of Ames reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days after receipt of bids, and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement in good repair for a period of two (2) years from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. After award and approval of contract and performance bond, work on this contract shall substantially completed at the Technical Services Complex no later than December 1, 2023 and the Southeast Well field and Water Treatment Plant no later than April 30, 2024.
