Detailed Purchaser’s Requirements are provided in the Technical Requirements and the Supplementary Technical Requirements. 3.ITEM 1 - Spec ID #1: 400 MVA 500-230-46 kV Auto Transformer. Manitoba Hydro is issuing this Request to seek the submission of competitive Proposals to identify the Proponent capable of providing the best solution for an Auto Transformer which requires design, manufacture, provide in-factory testing, prepare for shipment, loading, transportation and delivery of the Equipment to the designated Manitoba Hydros Riel Station, in accordance with the Purchasers Requirements with a delivery timeline of 12-15 months or best delivery date, after Contract Award The transformer is required for service associated with the 500 kV interconnection between Manitoba and USA and these special duty requirements must be carefully considered when designing the overall bank and its associated equipment. The Riel Station designation T71 is comprised of three (3) 400 MVA, single phase, 230kV-500kV autotransformers (one (1) per phase) that are used for the export/import of electrical energy between Manitoba and the United States. On August 21, 2021, T71a (A-phase) autotransformer suffered an internal fault and was subsequently removed from service by differential protection. An internal inspection of the unit on September 3, 2021 revealed significant damage due to the internal fault rendering the asset unrepairable.
