This project involves the reconstruction and resurfacing of Central Avenue and Kirkwood Avenue within the Borough of Stratford. BASE BID - KIRKWOOD AVENUE FROM STA 10+52.93 TO STA 13+79.72 CENTRAL AVENUE FROM STA 10+60 14+76.25 Kirkwood Avenue will be reconstructed by means of scarification. Central Avenue will also be resurfaced by means of a profile mill and overlay. Kirkwood Avenue will be reconstructed by means of scarification of the existing roadway as indicated on project plans. The expanse of the roadway will be scarified utilizing a six inch (6") pulverized soil aggregate base course, road mixed, and will receive a two-and-a-half inch (2.5") hot mix asphalt 19M64 base course. Areas of the roadway exhibiting signs of failure will require hot mix asphalt pavement repair which will be field located by the Engineer. The roadway will then receive a one-and-a-half inch (1.5") hot mix asphalt 9.5M64 surface course overlay. Central Avenue and Kirkwood Avenue will be resurfaced by means of mill and overlay of the existing roadway as indicated on project plans. The roadway will be milled to a depth of two inches (2") deep. Areas of the roadway exhibiting signs of failure will require hot mix asphalt pavement repair which will be field located by the Engineer. The roadway will then receive a two inch (2") hot mix 9.5M64 surface course overlay. Hot mix asphalt keyways will be installed where required in order to tie into existing edge of pavement and grade. In addition to the reconstruction and resurfacing of the existing roadways, there will be partial replacement of driveway aprons, curb, and sidewalk. ADA accessible handicap ramps will be installed in accordance with NJDOT specifications at several locations. Traffic striping and symbols will be installed as indicated on project plans. Topsoil, fertilizer and seed will be placed at all disturbed areas. ADD ALTERNATE BID #1 - CENTRAL AVENUE FROM STA 14+76.25 TO STA 18+28.74 Add Alternate Bid #1 will continue the mill and overlay of Central Avenue in similar fashion to the Base Bid. ADD ALTERNATE BID #2 - CENTRAL AVENUE FROM STA 18+28.74 TO STA 21+74.22 Add Alternate Bid #2 will continue the mill and overlay of Central Avenue in similar fashion to the Base Bid and Add Alternate Bid #1. sealed bids will be received by the Borough of Stratford for the FY 2022 NJDOT Trust Fund Resurfacing of Central Avenue & Kirkwood Avenue Phase II project in the Borough of Stratford, Camden County, New Jersey. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Borough of Stratford in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. Bid shall also be accompanied by a certificate letter from a surety company stating that it will provide the bidder with the completion bond. Bids must be on the bid form prepared by Bach Associates, PC, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon.
