Renovation of a civil project in Danville, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Construct a new wastewater pumping station at the Southside Plant on Gypsum Road to expand station capacity from 7 MGD to 11.4 MGD. This will also allow for the installation of a trash rake system and various building improvements. The current pumping station was built in the 1960s. New technology and additional capacity is needed to serve current and potential economic development customers in the future. Phase 1-Construct new 11.4 MGD pumping station Phase 2- Construct force main to Northside Plant (FY25 or FY26 As of November 17, 2023, this project is included in the city’s 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Construction expected FY2024-2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
