Site work for a water / sewer project in Seattle, Washington. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project upgrades aging AC electrical distribution system at Ross Dam with a new electrical distribution system. It installs conduit, ducting, distribution panels and wire. It improves the 4 kV system, improves lighting, and provides improvements on top of the dam including a center substation room, emergency generator, valve houses, and a 130-volt battery bank. New conduit and conductors improve reliability of spillgate operations and other dam operations requiring electric power. New electrical equipment, new lighting, and the addition of emergency lighting allow staff greater operational flexibility, safety, and efficiency. As of March 27, 2025, this project is in the City of Seattle's capital budget fy 2025-2030 CIP. Further information regarding a design firm and timeline for construction has not yet been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
