AC Water Main Replacement Projects Site Directions: Multiple roadway locations throughout Wenatchee Installation of new water mains and abandonment of existing Asbestos Cement water mains. Existing water lines and services will be replaced in 1st Street from Wilson to Miller and in Chelan Ave. from Marr to Lincoln. A new water main will be constructed in 8th Street between Miller and Wilson including new hydrants and services. Roadways will be repaved and ADA compliant pedestrian ramps will be built in accordance with the plans and specifications. The project cost is estimated between $1,100,000, and $1,300,000. Work to be performed includes: Installation of approximately 375 feet of 6-inch ductile iron water mains, approximately 1,650 feet of 8-inch ductile iron water mains, replacement or reconnection of 11 customer water services, installation of 28 water services, removal and disposal of 320 feet of 6-inch asbestos-cement pipe, grout filling in-place of 400 feet of 8-inch asbestos cement pipe and 220 feet of 6-inch steel pipe; installation of 9 ADA sidewalk ramps, installation of 5 catch basins, and grinding and overlaying the work areas. Work on existing asbestos-cement pipe will require personnel with proper certifications.
