Renovation of a municipal facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The NCC is seeking services to rehabilitate a heritage greenhouse located on a National Historic Site. Greenhouse #1 is a one storey structure 267m2 in size with two connecting links; Link 1 has an area of 15.8m2 and Link 2 has an area of 29.8m2. It was built in 1926 in the form of a low-profile curved eave structure with steel truss frames supported by a concrete knee wall clad in a precast masonry veneer. The current shingle style (lapped glass) roof glazing is supported on cypress wood glazing bars. The project includes glazing and glazing support bar replacement, replacement of the shade cloths in Greenhouses#1, #2, #3 and #4 as well as repairs and adjustments to the shade system components and upgrades to the existing greenhouse control system.
