The City of Kennewick Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide consulting services to the City of Kennewick to produce a comprehensive planning process for a state of the art recreation center. The overarching goal is to understand the extent and size of a recreation center, amenities within the center including evaluation of an aquatic component, ranked locations for the building of a center within the City, funding strategies, operations and maintenance costs, revenue projections, and staffing needs to operate the Recreation Center. This will lead to strategic development of new recreation facilities as well as implementation of a maintenance regimen upon completion. The plan will direct development, staffing, and ongoing maintenance of the recreation center site. The selected firm will have excellent proven experience and knowledge in parks and recreation planning, project management, recreational centers of multiple scope and scale, and will be effective in soliciting public involvement, will work closely with City staff, Parks & Recreation Commission, Kennewick School District, and large user groups.
