Notice to Bidders: Bidders may submit bids for project as described in this Document. Submit bids according to the Instructions to Bidders. 1. Notice is hereby given for Mifflin Academy of Science and Technology intent to receive Bids for the construction of a new academic building to east of the existing academic building on The Academy Campus 2. Regulatory Requirements: Current copies of building codes of the local Code Authority Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Federal laws, shall govern submittal, opening, and award of bids. 3. Submit bids on the form provided; fill all blank spaces. State numbers in words and figures; write signatures longhand. The completed form shall be without interlineation, alteration or erasure. Bids shall contain no recapitulation of the work to be done. 4. Bids shall be sealed in an opaque envelope bearing the tile of the work, the name of the Owner and the name of the Bidder. Multiple Contract Project consisting of the following prime contracts: a. General and Plumbing Building Construction. b. Mechanical Construction. c. Electrical Construction Deposit as security with each bid a certified check, bank treasurer's or cashier's check or bid bond for at least 100% of the base bid, payable to the Owner. Checks will be returned to all except the 2 lowest bidders within 7 days; and to others when contracts have been executed. The check of the second lowest bidder will be returned within 5 days upon the presentation of an acceptable bid bond. A bidder who fails to execute and deliver the contract within 7 days after receiving notice of award, together with certificates of insurance and bond forms as required, shall forfeit to the Owner, as liquidated damages for such failure, the security deposited with his bid. Bids may not be withdrawn for 60 days after receipt of bids, except as may be provided by law. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. START OF WORK A. Work is to begin no later than January 29, 2024. TIME OF COMPLETION A. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. B. Substantial Completion shall be no later than January 30, 2024. Substantial Completion is defined within the AIA Contract documents. Obtaining the Certificate of Occupancy is one of several requirements for achieving Substantial Completion. C. Final Completion shall be as follows: 1. For the landscaping (Trees, shrubs, grass, mulch, etc.), no later than August-October 2025. The anticipated milestones for completing the work are as follows: 1. Bids Due January 2, 2024 2. Mobilize January 29, 2024 3. Project Substantial Completion July 25, 2024 4. Landscape Final Completion August 1, 2025 5. Building Final Completion August 15, 202 The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. Last day for RFI January 17, 2024 The new bidding schedule will be: Pre-bid Conference January 4, 2024 Last day for RFI January 17, 2024 Bid date January 23, 2024 District Board Meeting February 22, 2024 Notice of Award February 23, 2024 Signed Contract Returned March 1, 2024 Addendum March 4, 2024 Contractor Mobilize March 4, 2024 Construction Duration 18 months The Architect indicated ALL questions must be submitted on the RFI Form provided to Suzanne Itzko, sitzko@murrayassoc.com and Benedict Dubbs, bhd@murrayassoc.com.
