Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fremont, California. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a road / highway; road / highway; water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

**As of December 27, 2023, project was awarded to Gradetech, Inc, awarded amount is $1,595,577.72.** The Project is located at the intersection of Fremont Boulevard and Country Drive, and is described as follows: The project is more specifically defined in the Contract Documents, but generally includes the following items of work: Furnish and maintain traffic control throughout the period of construction; maintain pedestrian barricades and detour pedestrian traffic around the work area; demolish and dispose of or recycle existing improvements including asphalt pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalk, curb access ramp, medians and traffic islands; construct bicycle/pedestrian protected intersection improvements; modify existing traffic signal; relocate storm drain inlets; construct storm drain culverts; construct bike ramps and curb ramps; place hot mix asphalt concrete pavement; apply a slurry seal treatment, install striping and pavement markings. There may be other items of work not mentioned above that are shown on the plans and required by the State Standard Specifications and/or the Special Provisions. No Pre-Bid Meeting Scheduled The estimated construction cost, or construction cost range, for the Project is $1,853,000. The City of Fremont will only allow the purchase of complete Bid Sets. This estimate serves only as a guideline to bidders of the scope of the Work and the Project. No bidder, including the successful bidder, is entitled to make any claim against City based on inaccuracy of the estimated cost or range of cost of the Work or the Project. 3. License and Registration Requirements. License. This Project requires a valid California contractors license for the following classification(s): Class A. Contractors bidding as a joint venture must secure a joint venture license prior to award of the Contract for the Project. DIR Registration. City may not accept a Bid Proposal from, or enter into the Contract with, a bidder without proof that the bidder is registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) to perform public work under Labor Code Section 1725.5, subject to limited legal exceptions. The planned timeframe for commencement and completion of construction of the Project is: 95 working days A preliminary bid result will be posted on the City by DECEMBER 19, 2023 4:00 PM. No partial sets will be issued and the cost of purchase is non-refundable. Call in advance to confirm availability. Reference City of Fremont Bid No. 24-011. Bidders are encouraged to recycle unused Contract Documents. Each bid must be submitted using the Bid Proposal form provided with the Contract Documents. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashiers or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee that, upon award of the bid, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, the insurance certificates, and the other documentation required by the Contract Documents, within ten days after Citys issuance of the Notice of Award Prevailing Wage Requirements: This Project is subject to the prevailing wage requirements applicable to the locality in which the Work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of worker needed to perform the Work, including employer payments for health and welfare, pension, vacation, apprenticeship and similar purposes. Rates: The prevailing rates are on file with the City Engineer and available .Each Contractor and Subcontractor must pay no less than the specified rates to all workers employed to work on the Project. The schedule of per diem wages is based upon a working day of eight hours. The rate for holiday and overtime work must be at least time and one-half. Compliance:The Contract will be subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR, under Labor Code Section 1771.4. Minimum Wage: This Contract may be subject to the City Minimum Wage Ordinance, codified in Fremont Municipal Code Chapter 5.30. Contractor represents it has read and understands the Citys minimum wage requirements and agrees to fully comply with the ordinance. Contractor shall promptly provide any documents and information required by City to verify compliance. Contractor shall include all applicable minimum wage requirements in all subcontractor contracts and require subcontractors to comply with the requirements. If federal, state, and local minimum wage laws apply to this Contract, Contractor shall comply with the highest rate of pay applicable. Contractors violation of the Citys Minimum Wage Ordinance constitutes a material breach of Contract for which the City may pursue all available legal and equitable remedies, including termination. For more information on the Citys minimum wage requirements, please refer to the City of Fremont Minimum Wage Flyer published in the City and updated annually. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price. Substitution of Securities. Substitution of appropriate securities in lieu of retention amounts from progress payments is permitted under Public Contract Code Section 22300. Subcontractor List: Each Subcontractor must be registered with the DIR to perform work on public projects. Each bidder must submit a completed Subcontractor List form with its Bid Proposal, including the name, location of the place of business, California contractor license number, DIR registration number, and portion of the Work (based on the Base Bid) for each Subcontractor that will perform work or service, or fabricate or install work, for the prime contractor in excess of one-half of 1% of the bid price, using the Subcontractor List form included with the Contract Documents. All bidders should carefully review the Instructions to Bidder before submitting a Bid Proposal for the Project.
