Box 856, Nicholasville KY, 40356; is requesting proposals for professional services of a Naval Architect or Naval Engineer to develop plans for construction of a small river ferry barge to replace the existing Valley View Ferry COI vessel #1110613. The current vessel is in operation at the end of Kentucky Highway 169, Mile point 157.8 of the Kentucky River (Exhibit A). The replacement barge design plans will be required to meet statutory and non-statutory requirements for vessels under 100 gross tons in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title 46, Subchapter T (Parts 175-185). The designer will also be required to arrange four inspections during the building process as required by USCG regulations and make monthly progress reports to the Valley View Ferry Authority. Questions Deadline: 12/12/2023 12:00 PM (ET) Submission of completed final plans 180 days The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and to waive technicalities and informalities when such waiver is determined by the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government to be in its best interest. The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government has set a goal that not less than ten percent (10%) of the total value of this Contract be subcontracted to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, which is made up of MBEs and WBEs.
