Bid is cancelled The City of Marco Island is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to repair the existing boardwalk located between Marco Island Hilton Beach Resort and the Marriot Crystal Shores Resort in Marco Island. The CONTRACTOR shall have a wealth of experience in repairing decking systems and similar public access facilities. The firm should also have experience in meeting the requirements of FEMA reimbursed projects. The City of Marco Island is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to repair the existing boardwalk located between Marco Island Hilton Beach Resort and the Marriot Crystal Shores Resort in Marco Island. The CONTRACTOR shall have a wealth of experience in repairing decking systems and similar public access facilities Questions Due 12/11/2023 5:00 PM . The City reserves the right to formally amend and/ or clarify the requirements of the bid specifications where it deems necessary. Any such addendum/ clarification shall be in writing and shall be posted online Licensed Contractors with demonstrated experience in working with boardwalk repair and projects of similar scope are requested to furnish all materials, labor, tools, equipment, supplies, services, and other necessary items to repair the Crystal Shores beach access boardwalk. Under this section the boardwalk repair CONTRACTOR shall provide but is not necessarily limited to the following: 1. To obtain all necessary permits for the repair works of the boardwalk structures. 2. To secure the site against theft, vandalism, or accidental entry for the entire duration of the project. NOTE: CONTRACTOR must secure all materials, tools, equipment, etc., at the end of every shift throughout the duration of the project. The City is not responsible for lost or damaged tools, equipment, etc. 3. To take all measurements and determine the quantity of material needed. 4. To purchase and deliver to the work site all materials and components necessary to execute the project. NOTE: The CONTRACTOR or one of its representatives, shall be on site for all deliveries, on loading, and off-loading of all materials, supplies, generators, ladders, dumpsters, portables etc. required for this project. 5. To supply all electrical power sources necessary to complete the scope of work. CONTRACTOR shall supply a portable generator and power tools, as needed. The boardwalk has no electrical power for usage. 6. To disassemble damaged sections of the boardwalk and replace them with existing materials salvaged where possible. NOTE: CONTRACTOR can reuse existing boardwalk materials as a viable alternative to disposal. In many situations boardwalk materials removed from its original application retains sufficient durability and structural integrity to be reused in a similar application. However, these materials shall satisfy the requirements of Section 9. WARRANTIES. 7. To inspect the pilings and adjust cap beams to achieve a levelled deck. In some locations it may be necessary to shim the cap boards or reposition the metal joist hangers. Once releveled, the deck board can be reinstalled with the guardrails. Some of the existing decking and guardrail material may need replacement where not reusable.
