This project provides for the Commission to issue Work Authorizations to the Contractor to perform the installation of durable pavement markings as the need arises. The contract time period will extend from the date of Notice to Proceed to November 21, 2025. Work may include installation of Highly Reflectorized Polyurea Pavement Markings, Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Markings, and Highly Reflectorized Hot Thermoplastic Pavement Markings. Installation of durable pavement markings may include other types of pavement marking work, including installation of pavement marking legends and miscellaneous interchange or mainline pavement marking work that are not associated with the items of work being bid. If the need arises for such work, prices to perform the work will be negotiated with the Contractor for each Work Authorization. Major work items may include the following items: Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Marking Pavement Marking Removal Highly Reflectorized Polyurea Pavement Markings Highly Reflectorized Polyurea Pavement Marking, Surface Applied Highly Reflectorized Hot Thermoplastic Pavement Markings with 3M Connected Roads AW 90 Series Elements Highly Reflectorized Hot Thermoplastic Pavement Markings with 3M Connected Roads AW 90 Series Elements, Surface Applied Reapplication Surface Preparation Removal of Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Markings It is understood that the total maximum cost for this contract, to the Commission, may not exceed the amount of Five Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($5,500,000.00). A Prequalification by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is not a prerequisite for bidding on this project. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract. Any questions for this project must be submitted electronically in EBS by registered business partners. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.)
