Question Deadline 01/30/2024 at 5:00 PM PT Online Q&A Yes Response to Questions Posted on Website February 1, 2024 The City of Madera is seeking qualified contractors to construct upgrades to the Engineering Division's front counter to make it compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. A. Carpeting Removal/Installation & Tile Work 1. All labor & materials required for the removal of existing and installation of new carpet in designated area(s), and installation of stone tiles. B. Front Counter Construction 1. All labor & materials required for the construction of new ADA compliant front counter. C. Rear Counter Construction 1. All labor & materials required for the replacement of matching rear countertop, matched to existing shape and profile. D. Carpeting Removal/Installation & Tile Work 1. All labor & materials required to remove existing countertop and install new countertop to matching wall profile. E. New Entryway Construction 1. All labor & materials required for the construction of new entryway wall and installation of new door, door frame, and all required hardware. The Successful Bidder must complete required work within 30 Calendar Days of Notice to Proceed. Bid security required in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the amount of the bid shall accompany the bids. The form of the bid security shall be either a bid bond issued by an admitted surety insurer licensed by the California Department of Insurance, cash, cashier's check, or certified check. Bid securities shall be made in favor of the City of Madera. Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of Bid are required within 7 days of the Notice of Intent to Award on all projects valued at $25,000 and above. Performance Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of Bid are required within 7 days of the Notice of Intent to Award on all projects valued at $100,000 and above. Each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code 7028.15 and California Public Contract Code 3300 and shall be licensed in the following classification as required by the scope of work: B - General Building Contractor. Any Bidder not meeting the license requirement(s) following the bid opening will be rejected as nonresponsive. All Bidder's license(s) must be active and in good standing at the time of the bid opening and must remain so throughout the term of the Contract.
