The City of Urbandale, Iowa, is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms for engineering services for the design of a bank stabilization project at two locations: on Walnut Creek from Douglas Parkway to approximately 400' south of 142nd Street, and on Golfview Creek from the western border of Golfview West Park thru Goflview Park and Cross Creek Park to Aurora Avenue, including performing preliminary and final design, and bidding assistance services. This project will provide bank stabilization at the following locations: 1. Walnut Creek from Douglas Parkway to approximately 400' south of 142nd Street. 2. Golfview Creek from the western border of Golfview West Park and following the creek to Aurora Avenue. This includes work along Golfview Creek in Golfview Park and Cross Creek Park. The project limits should be examined and locations with erosion or high potential for future erosion should have solutions developed to stabilize these locations. The proposed designs should consider the costs of any permitting impacts to adjacent channels and wetlands in addition to the long-term stability of the creek banks. It is the City's intent to bid this project in Fall of 2024 and have construction completed by the Spring of 2025. Related project items include grading, restoration, and associated permits. This project shall be two plan sets for the two different locations. There is a project planned adjacent to the first location that will influence the decision. The proposals submitted for this RFP will be evaluated by a panel of City staff. The City of Urbandale is requesting your firm to submit a proposal for design services for the Walnut Creek and Golfview Creek Bank Stabilization Your proposal should include specifics of your company's qualifications for this type of design, a list of the lead personnel that will be involved in this project, details of the ability to meet the timelines stated in this request, and demonstration of an understanding of the necessary concept ideas for the design decisions noted below. In addition, your proposal should include the services to be provided by your firm, your hourly rates, a not-to-exceed design cost estimate (include assumptions used to arrive at engineering fee), and expense estimates for the preparation of these plans. The City's professional services agreement will be required. This process will not involve interviews with the prospective firms unless deemed necessary by the City to make a final selection. It is anticipated the construction inspection services will be completed by the City. Below I have described the work being requested and also provided a drawing of the area for your information.
