Professional Services for Preliminary Engineering and Final Design for Upper Ridge Road Improvements The County of Amador Department of Transportation and Public Works (County) is requesting statement of qualifications for the evaluation and proposed improvements for approximately 3.08 miles of Upper Ridge Road (approximately from Post Mile 5.25 to 8.33). For reference, beginning approximately at the Climax Road and Ridge Road intersection to SR 88 and Ridge Road intersection. Upper Ridge Road is a two-lane (one lane in each direction) major collector roadway. It consists of a mixture of mostly residential homes and a few commercial businesses. The roadway has approximately fifteen (15) road intersections and approximately ninety (90) driveways. The purpose of the project is to make repairs and safety improvements to Upper Ridge Road. Repairs are expected to consist of the rehabilitation of the pavement. The appropriate rehabilitation method is to be determined. Recommended safety improvements are to be completed with the existing roadway geometry. All proposed work is to be confined to the existing roadway footprint, with no significant expansion of the road width or change in alignment to occur. Where feasible, the County would consider adding shoulder widening with incidental earthwork within the existing right-of-way. The right-of-way varies within the project area and may need to be determined in questionable locations. The County anticipates that a categorical exemption will be processed as a Section 15301 Existing Facilities, Class 1 if the shoulders are not widened. However, the County would like the proposals to include environmental services e.g. cultural, if a full depth restoration is recommended. The County anticipates the selected Consultant will be available and ready to perform the work by late February 2024 and desires the Consultant complete the required deliverables by early August 2024. The Consultant shall propose all required work to evaluate this segment of Ridge Road and provide feasible solutions. The current engineering budget is approximately $200,000. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
