Renovation of a municipal facility in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
This program addresses interior and exterior needs for the East Wing to City Hall (Fire Station 2), and City Hall as a whole. An architectural firm conducted a needs analysis of the East Wing and Fire Station 2 and recommends the following short-term repairs. Long term, the architect's analysis of the budgetary requirements to address deficiencies in infrastructure needs and building envelope needs quickly eclipsed the cost per square foot for new construction of another building. Building replacement is recommended in Year 6 rather than wholesale renovation. 2024-2025: Replacement of older equipment in the apparatus bay, chiller replacement, and minor remodeling as needed for three years before demolition. This would also include any interior capital needs for staff. If not needed, any remaining unused Capital funds would be returned to the CIP. The project is included in the City's FY 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program. As of February 5, 2024, further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
