Renovation of a museum in Apalachicola, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a museum.

The Franklin County Tourist Development Council is seeking qualifications from individuals or corporations interested in designing, constructing and installing museum display cases for the Franklin County Maritime Museum. The museum, located at 628 Highway 98, Apalachicola, highlights the county's maritime heritage through different industries that depended on the water for all or part of their activities: the cotton trade, the lumber industry, the seafood industry, and the recreational fishing industry. The cases will display the artifacts collected by the museum to illustrate these various industries. The museum is located in a former seafood processing plant. The cases will need to be constructed to accommodate features remaining in the building, such as oyster shell chutes. The selected contractor shall be responsible for providing a design of the proposed layout for approval before installation. The Franklin County TDC will select an individual or firm based on the scoring factors below and then negotiate a fee for the work. SCORING FACTORS o Experience and References (60 points): Demonstrate experience in other projects of similar scope and complexity (a maximum of 4 projects). The reference list for each project should include the name of a person familiar with the project, telephone number and/e-mail address, brief description of the project, cost and project length. o Availability to Meet the Time Requirements (40 points): To meet the requirements of the grant paying for this project, it must be completed and installed at the museum by May 31, 2024. State a willingness to meet this deadline.
