Bollard embedment types include the following - 1. Fixed - Surface Mounted 2. Fixed - In-Ground 3. Removable - with embedment sleeve 4. Retractable - manual (with embedment sleeve) 5. Retractable - automatic or semiautomatic (with pneumatic embedment sleeve) 6. Collapsible/Flexible - mounting as indicated in the contract documents 7. As specified The contract documents shall include information on the bollard(s) including the bollard(s): 1. materials, 2. finishes, 3. mounting/embedment hardware, 4. concrete construction details, 5. bollard cover (when specified), 6. yellow, retro-reflective tape, and 7. construction method(s) required for satisfactory installation. When collapsible/flexible bollards are specified, the contract documents will also indicate the mounting/embedment method. This information will be contained in either a special note (in the contract proposal) or note (in the contract plans) titled, 618.7ABXYN24 - Non-Security Bollards. The note or special note will indicate the desired payment item number(s).
