Renovation of an educational facility in Pearl City, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project shall in general consist of, but is not limited to, renovations to Rooms F-231, F-215, F-215a, F-215b, F-215c, F-215d, and F-215e. The work includes selective demolition, hazardous materials testing and abatement, concrete work, resilient baseboards, doors and windows, gypsum board, acoustical ceilings, plaster work, tackable wall surfaces, wall insulation, carpentry, cabinetry, painting, identifying devices, metal countertops, drapery, roller shades, fire extinguishers, firestopping, sealants, suspended ceiling system, metal work, roofing work, air conditioning equipment, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, and air monitoring, as called for in the Plans and Technical Specifications. Bond Notes: In accordance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, this proposal is accompanied with a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total amount proposed. The Bidder shall use the attached Surety Bid Bond form. If the Bidder elects to use other acceptable forms of security listed in Section 2.8 of the General Provisions, the Bidder shall deposit the bid security with the Facilities Business Office prior to the bid due date. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES : If the Contractor fails to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or any extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay to the University $ 500.00 per each calendar day of delay. The liquidated damages constitute a reasonable estimate of the actual damages to be incurred by the University and are not meant to be a penalty. In accordance with General Provisions Section 3.10, the successful Offeror must submit a certificate of compliance issued by Hawaii Compliance Express dated within the last 6 months. Bidders may obtain the aforementioned certification by registering on-line. Owner Rights: The University reserves the right at any time, if additional funds are available, to add additional work to the project scope during construction. The work may include, but is not limited to new work, repairs, upgrades, and demolition. Any additional work will generally be within the Project limits. In the event that the total basic bid plus unit prices exceeds the amount of funds available for the project, the University reserves the right to reduce the scope of work through negotiation. The University reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any defects when in the Director's opinion such rejections or waiver will be for the best interest of the public.
