**As of March 1, 2024 bids received were rejected as they were over the budget.** Provide all labor, equipment, hazardous materials abatement associated with selective demolition, and materials as necessary to construct the Americans with Disabilities Act and security upgrades at the Nome-Beltz Jr. and Sr. High School located at MP 3.5 Teller Highway in Nome, Alaska and the elementary school located at 1057 E 5th Ave, Nome, Alaska as shown in these Contract Documents. All bidders shall submit a cashier's check or a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. Bid Bond to be underwritten by a surety qualified to issue bonds in the State of Alaska guaranteeing the signing of the contract for construction in the amount of the bid. Payment Bond: 100% of the Bid Amount Performance Bond: 100% of the Bid Amount School ends on May 31, 2024. Contractor may begin work inside the school on June 1, 2024. The date of Substantial Completion shall be on, or before, August 15, 2024. Final Completion shall be achieved by August 30, 2024. Failure by the Contractor to meet the Substantial Completion date will result in assessment of $500 per day in liquidated damages by the Owner. School begins on September 3, 2024. Any explanation desired by bidders regarding the meaning or interpretation of the Drawings and Specifications must be requested in writing to the City Engineer no later than 5:00 P.M., December 20, 2024. Oral explanations or instructions given before the award of the Contract will not be binding. Any interpretation made will be in the form of an Addendum to the Specifications or Drawings and will be furnished to all bidders, and its receipt by the bidder shall be acknowledged.
