The City of St. Charles ("City") is requesting bids from vendors for reconditioning services for a 34.4/12.47kV substation transformer currently in operation. The successful bidder will coordinate removal, roundtrip transportation of the unit, reconditioning services and associated testing. Question Deadline 02/19/2024 at 8:00 AM CT Answers published February 23, 2024 Questions concerning this invitation shall be submitted via e-mail to Procurement@stcharlesil.gov Anticipated Award Date: April 1, 2024 The City of St Charles is accepting bids from vendors for reconditioning services for a 34.4/12.47kV substation transformer currently in operation. The successful bidder will coordinate removal, roundtrip transportation of the unit, reconditioning services and associated testing. The transformer has been in operation since 1983 and its replacement is scheduled to arrive May 2024. The city has not identified any abnormal operation of the transformer nor has the unit experienced notable faults or overloading. Considering the recent supply and demand issues that have resulted in lead time delays, the City desires to recondition the transformer and use it as a reserve transformer. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The City also reserves the right to reduce the work scope due to budgetary constraints.
