Renovation of a day care center in Shaw AFB, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a day care center.
Purchase ten (10) portable heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units and associated flexible duct to assist in maintaining desired temperatures in Child Development Center (CDC) B2449 classrooms. The units shall be 1.5 ton air cooled, single phase, 115-V and require less than 15-amps when running. The units must be capable of providing cooling and heating. Child Development Center (CDC) is one of the most important buildings on base, with the mission to provide childcare services to all airmen family. The existing HVAC system serving the facility in not reliable and has had numerous failures over the past year. Due to the time needed to design and install a new HVAC system, CE is requesting to purchase portable units to supplement the system until replacement can occur. This failure represents mission incapacity to CDC.
