The intent of this RFP is to solicit a successful proponent to collaborate through a playground technical design process to develop inclusive and accessible playground, remove the existing play structure, and to construct the final design. The Work shall include, but is not limited to, the following: Site and play space design (see RFP and Technical Specifications for more details) - desired play area of up to ~340m2 Host start up meeting to collaborate on technical specifications and design Create a technical design of a proposed playground. Allow up to two review periods and follow-up meetings as required based on internal City feedback and public engagement. Mobilization and demobilization (including temporary site fencing, signage, site safety, pedestrian accommodation, site restoration, etc.); Removal and disposal of existing playground (including equipment, timber edging, sand safety surfacing). - approximate area of existing playground is 180m2; Supply and installation of new playground (including equipment, concrete edging, accessible safety surfacing (pour in place), playground drainage including connection to existing City storm drainage system); Removal and disposal of existing site furniture (including concrete pads). 1 bench, 1 picnic table; Supply and installation of new site furniture (including concrete pads). 1 bench, 1 accessible picnic table; Design and construction of hard surface connection from the existing pathway system to the play area; Allow for work to be performed around existing utilities including ATCO gas pipelines running under the playground; Maintenance during warranty period (as required).
