The Work Of The Contract Documents Can Be Summarized As Follows The Project Generally Consists Of 1,182 Square Feet Of Renovation Work Inside An Occupied Jail Corrections Building Consisting Of Approximately 24,650 Square Feet Of Gross Area Located At 503 North Main Street In Coupeville, Washington. The Existing Building Was Originally Designed In 1982 Under The 1979 Ubc Code And Built In 1983. The Building Consists Of A 2-story Concrete Structure With A Partial 2,140 Square Foot Basement. The Renovation Is Limited To Structurally Minor Interior Modifications Only Within The Existing Gross Floor Area Of The Building, To Be Occupied Solely By The Island County Sheriff's Department. Project Scope Includes: Protection Of The Current Facility Until New Occupancy Is Achieved; Construction Of New Room Partitions, Window Infills, And Detention Doors And Frames; Electrical Renovations In Association With Desired Work Above. Construction On The Jail Is Scheduled To Commence In The Start Of March 2024. The Building Will Be Occupied Until Substantial Completion Isachieved In August Of 2024. A Dual-phase Approach Will Be Taken During Construction And Demolition To Minimize Contractor Space Constraints In The Building. The Island County Facilities Management Department is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for interior and exterior tenant improvements as described in this document which is a prevailing wage public works job.
