Districtwide Carpet Cleaning Rebid Scope of Work: The Poway Unified School District (“District”), is soliciting bids to provide carpet cleaning District wide. Each site shall be cleaned once per year during summer recess and/or winter break. On behalf of the District, the Facilities, Maintenance & Operations Department (“FM&O”) will provide the Contractor with a cleaning schedule. Work performed will be primarily Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00a.m. – 6:00p.m. Some work may be scheduled Saturdays and Sundays, up to as late as 10:00p.m. Extended Student Services, Preschools and admin/DO offices designated by FM&O will be cleaned twice per year. The District reserves the right to use this contract as needed. The Contractor shall provide high quality carpet cleaning services using chemicals and techniques that meet the standards set forth in the S100 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Carpet Cleaning published by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (“IICRC”). Assigned sites will be cleaned once per year during summer recess and/ or winter and spring breaks. Bidders must be Institution of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certified (”IICRC”). Each Bidder must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in collaborating with a school district of comparable size and scope and furnish references. Each bid must be submitted with security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum bid amount as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract, if awarded to the bidder, and will provide the performance and payment bonds, insurance certificates and other documents described in the contract documents. Such security must be in one of the following forms: (1) a cashier’s check made payable to the district; (2) a certified check made payable to the district; or (3) a bond made payable to the district in the form set forth in the contract documents. Any bond must have been issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120. The successful bidder will be required to provide both a performance bond and a separate payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract amount.The forms of the bonds are set forth in the contract documents and all bonds must be issued by a California-admitted surety as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120. Term of Service: The pricing submitted for the initial term of the contract will remain fixed through June 30, 2025. Pricing agreed to for the second and third years will remain fixed throughout each contract period ending June 30, 2026, and June 30, 2027, respectively. The Awardee may only petition for an increase in pricing annually 120 calendar days before the end date of each contract period, as long as price increases do not exceed the rate of inflation determined by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) San Diego-Carlsbad Index, published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. If the Awardee requests price increases that exceed the rate of inflation determined by the CPI, the contract may not be renewed. The District reserves the right to accept or reject the price increase and may choose to re-bid the contract if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the District. The District reserves the right to contract with another vendor for individual projects if the Awarded Vendor is unable toper form that individual project.
