Renovation of a fire / police facility in Sitka, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 3,235-square-foot fire / police facility.

A. All work in this Contract will take place at the Sitka Fire Hall, located at 209 Lake Street, Sitka, Alaska 99835. The description of the work of the Contract can be summarized as follows 1. Remove old carpet, prep floor, and furnish and install new carpet in the public entry, hallways, offices, bunk rooms, day room, and training room (approx. 3,235 SF). 2. Rubber wall base will be removed, walls prepped, and replaced with new in all carpeted areas (approx. 800 LF). B. The work shall be Substantially Completed by December 15, 2024, with an additional 30 days for Final Completion on January 15, 2025 Questions can be directed to the Contract Manager , at publicworks@cityofsitka.org Inquiries shall be submitted no later than Wednesday, March 21, 2024 at 5:00:00 PM Alaska Time Zone This project consists of removing old carpet, prepping floor, and furnishing and installing new carpet and rubber wall base in the public entry, hallways, offices, bunk rooms, day room, and training room (approx.. 3,235 SF) Award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible, and qualified Bidder. A contract award will be made on the basis of a total basic bid plus additive alternates or less deductive alternates, which Owner selects. Owner is not required to award any alternate and may choose to do all, none, or some of the alternates as it deems in its best interest. A Bid Bond in the amount of 5 percent of the total bid price must accompany each bid that exceeds $100,000. The Bid Bond may be in the form of a certified check made payable to the City and Borough of Sitka or a Bid Bond issued by a surety licensed to do business in Alaska. For bids that exceed $100,000, a 100% performance bond and a 100% payment bond, with a corporate surety approved by Owner, will be required for the faithful performance of the Contract. Attorneys-in-fact who sign bid bonds must file with each bond a certified copy of their power of attorney. A certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City and Borough of Sitka may be used in lieu of a performance bond. The City and Borough of Sitka reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities. Liquidated damages will be as follows: $250.00 for each day that expires after the time specified for completion of Substantial Completion, until the Work required for this milestone is completed.
