The County of Bland is requesting proposals for Fire Alarm and Sprinkler System maintenance and repair. Included in this proposal are all systems related to fire detection, warning, notification, and extinguishment located in the Bland County Courthouse Building. Interested vendors may schedule an appointment to inspect the systems prior to the bid closing date by calling Rodney Ratliff at (276).688.4622. For any Contract for construction, the amount of which exceeds $100,000, the Contractor shall furnish to the County the bonds required under Sections 2.2-4336 and 2.2-4337 of the Code and shall otherwise fully comply with the requirements of such sections of the Code. The County reserves the right to require payment and/or performance bonds in the amount of the Contract for any other Contracts, whether or not required by such sections of the Code. The contract shall cover the period from May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025 or an equivalent period depending upon date of contract award.. This contract may be renewed based on the same prices, terms and conditions at the expiration of its term by mutual agreement of the contractor and Bland County. The renewal may be for one (1) additional two-year period. Notice of intent to renew will be given to the Contractor in writing by Bland County, normally 90 days before the expiration date of the current contract. This notice will not be deemed to commit Bland County to renew the contract for the renewal period, until such time as Bland County takes official action to commit to such a renewal. All firms doing business in Bland County are required to be licensed in accordance with the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Bid and proposal records shall be opened to public inspection only after award of the contract. Any bidder or offerer may be allowed to inspect the bid or proposal records prior to award unless the County decides not to accept any bids and to reopen the contract.
