Scope of Work The purpose of this RFP is to solicit qualified firms to conduct a comprehensive study aimed at analyzing and providing recommended solutions to improve the current management processes and methods of two water and wastewater treatment residuals: (1) Biosolids: a byproduct produced by the two wastewater treatment plants in Lawrence, Kansas, namely Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant (1400 E. 8th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044) and Wakarusa River Wastewater Treatment Plant (2300 E. 41st ST, KS 66046). (2) Lime: a byproduct produced by Kaw River Water Treatment Plant (720 W 3rd St, Lawrence, KS 66044) The total budget for this project is $225,000. Deadline to Submit Questions / Inquiries March 25, 2024 (12 pm) Clarification Period May 13-31 SCOPE OF WORK Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current conditions and challenges associated with the City's residual management programs (Class B Biosolids and lime), Identify any logistical, environmental, or regulatory issues (current or emerging, such as PFAS) related to the disposal or reuse of these residuals, and finally provide recommended solutions to improve those management programs. Initial report for findings & recommendations 9 months Final report 12 Months
