The County of Nevada is soliciting sealed Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from Tree Service Contractors, Licensed Timber Operators, and Vegetation Management Vendors to provide tree removal, tree trimming, stump grinding, chipping, mastication, hand thinning, and other and vegetation management services for various tree removal, roadside vegetation abatement, defensible space, and shaded fuel break projects throughout Nevada County. The intent of this Solicitation is to solicit bids from qualified C-61/D-49 Tree Service Contractors and Licensed Timber Operators who are interested in providing tree removal and vegetation management services for Nevada County. The County intends to select qualified Contractors to support multifaceted prescribed treatment plans for specifically defined tasks. Qualified Contractors may be requested to perform all or portions of the projects. The County is seeking qualified Contractors who specialize in three specific areas 1) Tree Service Contractors that are Licensed Timber Operators and Certified Climbers; (2) Mechanical Vegetation Management Contractors who specialize in mastication, chipping, stump grinding, and other mechanical treatments; and (3) Non-Mechanical Vegetation Management Contractors who specialize in hand-thinning, pile burning, and broadcast burning. Each company qualified will enter into a one (1) year Master Service Agreement (MSA) which includes options to renew up to four (4) one-year terms. The County makes no specific guarantee of a minimum or maximum amount of services which shall be requested of any company who is named to the Qualified List. Once Qualified Lists have been established, individual tree removal/vegetation management projects will be presented to Contractors on the Qualified List(s) to bid on these projects. The lowest responsive and responsible Contractor will be awarded the project. Multiple projects are anticipated to be administered in the next few years.
