PROJECT BACKGROUND Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport is seeking proposals from contractors for the cleaning and sealing (filling) of cracks and joints in existing asphalt pavement on the airfield taxiways and runways. The contract will be bid on a price per 8-hour shift for day and night work. The areas are organized by priority in the order the BTV Airfield Operations wants cracks sealed. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Materials and Labor: a. Provide all labor and materials to complete the following work on the following: Cleaning and sealing (filling) of cracks and joints in existing airfield asphalt pavement. Certain areas of the Airfield will require night work while others can be done during normal business hours. The Airport is looking for pricing that includes crew size, maximum linear footage achievable during work hours for a price based on an 8-hour shift of day and nights. 2. The Airport is looking to schedule this work as soon as applicable weather permits and prior to when Airfield painting begins as part of our annual PART139 FAA inspection. 3. Airport Maintenance staff will provide all the lighted X's, lighting control packages and coordination with ATCT for nightly work & runway closures. 4. Schedule: a. All Night work will need to be completed from the hours of 12:15 a.m. (or last arriving flight) and 5:15 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning. BTV operations will inspect the runway after each closure prior to the first flight departure each morning. It needs to be understood that crews will need to be ready to go at the moment the surface is closed and picked up in time for the surface to be inspected and re-opened. b. Cancellation of work for weather related purposes must be called by 2:00 p.m. daily on days that night work is scheduled to be completed. c. All Day work will need to be completed from the hours of 7:00am to 3:00pm (unless otherwise deemed necessary by Airfield Foreman/Manager to take advantage of good weather conditions.) d. Contractors will need to coordinate with Airport Maintenance staff for escort availability and scheduling Questions and requests for clarification relating to this Request for Proposal may be made to the contact person at the e-mail address contained on the cover page of this Request for Proposals.
