Contact initiated by a bidder concerning this solicitation with any other City representative, not expressly authorized elsewhere in this document, is prohibited. Any such unauthorized contact may result in disqualification of the bidder. BID BONDS: Only when specifically requested in the bid documents shall each bid be accompanied by a bid bond with surety satisfactory to the City or a Cashier's or a Certified Check, made payable to the City of Lynchburg. In the event of default by the Bidder, the deposit shall be and represent liquidated damages to the City. Bids received without a bid bond, when specifically requested, shall be rejected. Any bid received after the announced time and date for submittal, whether by mail or otherwise, will be rejected. The time of receipt shall be determined by the time clock stamp in the Procurement Division. Bidders are responsible for ensuring that their bids are stamped by Procurement personnel before the deadline indicated. Nothing herein is intended to exclude any responsible vendor, his product or service or in any way restrain or restrict competition. All responsible vendors are encouraged to bid. The initial term of these contracts shall be for a one (1) year period, with the option to renew for up to four (4) additional one (1) year terms, upon mutual agreement. Price increases will only be considered during the renewal period or if additional services are needed as determined by the City. The City reserves the right to utilize any contract resulting from this IFB and request pricing for related/associated services, for which any awarded Contractor may provide, that are not specifically listed in this IFB document. The intent of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to obtain the services of a qualified Contractor(s) for testing, inspecting, and monitoring of fire alarm systems, testing, inspecting, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, and testing and inspection of fire extinguishers located in City of Lynchburg buildings.
