Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Brentwood, Missouri. Working plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and playground / park / athletic field.
The owner has determined a short list of Design Builders. The City of Brentwood is requesting proposals for Design Build Services to design, plan, coordinate, and construct engineered improvements to repair a slope failure and reconstruct a walking trail adjacent to Black Creek to the east side of Hanley Park. Phase 2 - Lee Wynn Trail Repairs Project Overview Description The existing asphalt trail and slope along Black Creek near 524 Hanley Industrial Court adjacent to Hanley Park has eroded and will continue to degrade without a permanent repair solution. Approximately 125 linear feet of trail has failed along with the adjacent slope. It is anticipated that around 1,500 square yards of material will be removed in the repair area if existing materials are unsuitable. Specific Work Includes: Participation with Staff and other agencies during the design phase Creation of cost estimates at 60% conceptual and final design phases as well as schedule with each cost estimate. Geotechnical work to determine existing soil conditions. Identify and review existing utilities in the repair area and protect utilities in place. Materials testing of proposed improvements including, but not limited to, concrete design, backfill and compaction, Demolition and replacement of the existing trail system. Construction and installation of an access road or trail to transport materials and equipment to the repair site. Consideration and possible requirements to install a handrail or fence adjacent to the repair area due to the vertical drop. Coordination and approval of the necessary permits from agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, City of Brentwood, and Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Progress invoicing, cost details, construction management, coordination meetings and other activities from project kick-off through and project close-out are expected. Project Schedule It is the intent to complete the planning, design, and construction of the project in accordance with the following timeframe: April 2024- RFQ approval & contract execution. April- May 2024- Survey work, design of proposed solution, cost estimates, & schedule. May- June 2024- Finalize design package, permit applications, & commence construction phase. June- August 8, 2024- Continue construction phase through project close-out. Design/Build firm will begin work immediately upon execution of a contract and proceed continuously to project completion. The current FEMA deadline for completion of work activities is August 8, 2024. All firms responding to this RFQ proposal will be evaluated and a short list of firms deemed to be the most highly qualified will be compiled. The most highly ranked firm(s) will be invited to make a brief presentation (15 minutes or less) to the Public Works Committee which is anticipated to take place in the evening of April 11, 2024. It is anticipated that the Board of Aldermen will select the highest ranked firm for subsequent contract negotiations. If no agreement is reached with the highest ranked firm, then negotiations will be undertaken with the next ranked firm as determined by the Board of Aldermen. 4/9/2024: RFQ Evaluation Complete 4/11/2024 :RFQ Recommendation to Public Works Committee 4/10/2024-4/15/2024 :Contract Negotiation Period 4/15/2024 RFQ- Board of Aldermen- 1st & 2nd Readings of Contract
