Project Description: (See attachments for full Scope of Contract) The contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, personnel, transportation,materials, equipment, and supplies, except as otherwise specified, necessary to provide repair andmaintenance to the Forest Service owned housing units on the Thorne Bay Ranger District (TBRD)in Thorne Bay, Alaska. All work shall be performed in accordance with this statement of work,specifications, and all federal, state and local laws and regulations. The work to be performedunder this contract is to replace all water fixtures and potable water plumbing with PEX tubing inthe Duplexes, Quads and Bunkhouse on the Thorne Bay Ranger District. Project Location: The project is located at the U.S. Forest Service Thorne Ranger District (TBRD) on the Tongass National Forest in Thorne Bay, Alaska 99829. The Duplex 1/2, Duplex 5/6, Duplex 7/8, Duplex 9/10, Quads, and Bunkhouse facilities are located at 1310, 1306, 1304, 1302, 1300, and 1301 Federal Way, respectively. Thorne Bay is located on Prince of Wales Island and is accessible via the Inter-Island Ferry authority, floatplane, or Island Air out of Ketchikan, Alaska. Magnitude of Construction: The Government estimates the Magnitude of Construction to be between: $250,000 to $500,000 All Questions about this project must be submitted to the Contracting Officer in writing - via email - roxanne.d.anderson@usda.gov All Questions about this project must be submitted to the Contracting Officer in writing - via email and should be received by the CO at least 7 days prior to the closing date of the solicitation. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, personnel, transportation,materials, equipment, and supplies, except as otherwise specified, necessary to provide repair and maintenance to the Forest Service owned housing units on the Thorne Bay Ranger District (TBRD) in Thorne Bay, Alaska. All work shall be performed in accordance with this statement of work, specifications, and all federal, state and local laws and regulations. The work to be performed under this contract is to replace all water fixtures and potable water plumbing with PEX tubing in the Duplexes, Quads and Bunkhouse on the Thorne Bay Ranger District. A. Reviewing, Certifying, Approving Authority: Contractor shall be responsible for reviewing and certifying that submittals are in compliance with contract requirements. B. Scheduling: Allow review period, beginning with receipt by approving authority that includes at least 15 working days for submittals for contracting officer approval. Period of review for submittals with contracting officer approval begins when Government receives submittal from contractor. Period of review for each resubmittal is the same as for initial submittal. C. Submittal Quality and Legibility: Submittals will be clear and concise, with applicable parts, models, and units clearly delineated. D. Submittal Format: Submittals shall be submitted in pdf format to the CO. Contractor shall provide each submittal in a single pdf file to the extent practical, with file size optimized. Samples (such as for color selection) are exempt from this requirement. E. Variations: Variations from contract requirements require Government approval pursuant to contract Clause entitled "FAR 52.236-21, Specifications and Drawings for Construction" and will be considered where advantages to government. F. All products identified in these specifications shall require approved submittals prior to installation. G. Finishes: See specification sections and submit for approval by COR before ordering. Submit all paint colors, cabinet/counter texture and colors, as one submittal to be coordinated for approval. A. This work shall consist of preparatory work and operations necessary for the movement of personnel, equipment, supplies, and incidentals to the project site, and for all other work and operations that must be performed or that cause costs to be incurred prior to beginning work on the various items on the project site. Mobilization is not intended to pay for the costs of materials before they are used on the project site. Mobilization shall include the following principal items, but not limited to: 1. Moving all the Contractor's equipment required for operations onto the site. 2. Providing on-site accommodations and related expenses for crew. 3. Obtaining all required permits. 4. Having all OSHA-required notices and establishment of safety programs. 5. Having the Contractor's superintendent, managers and others as identified at the jobsite full time unless otherwise noted. 6. Submitting initial submittals. A. This section covers the furnishing of materials, labor, and equipment required to partially or entirely remove and/or demolish those items identified on in this contract and restore any disturbed areas or components impacted by demolition Description: Include hot- and cold-water indicators; coordinate faucet inlets with supplies and fixture holes; coordinate outlet with spout and fixture receptor.
