Renovation of a water / sewer project in Sunrise, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Sawgrass WWTP is divided into two separate, parallel secondary treatment systems, Train A and Train B. Train A was originally constructed in two phases and completed in 1989, and Train B was added as part of a major expansion a decade later. Train B is scheduled for renewal and replacement. A BODR was developed in 2021 for the renewal and replacement project and consists of replacement of aeration tank influent gates, frames, manual handwheel operators, influent and effluent channel isolation stop gates, diffusers and appurtenances, butterfly valves and gaskets on the aeration system drop legs, orifice plate differential pressure air flow gauges and dissolved oxygen transmitter. This project is in the 2019 Water and Wastewater Master Plan. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of November 25, 2025, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
