Waianae Moku Landscape and Irrigation Scope of Work The project shall in general consist of, but is not limited to, the removal, protection, and temporary relocation of existing trees; installation of an irrigation system; planting of new trees and bushes; and widening of the sidewalk at the main building entrance. The work includes an underground sprinkler system, lawns and grasses, exterior plants, and concrete work, as called for in the Plans and Technical Specifications. DESCRIPTION OF BID PROPOSAL ITEMS In order to avoid any delay during construction, each bidder must enter in his/her proposal a bid for each item listed. The description of items is not intended to give a detailed description of all additional work required as only the principal features of such item are listed. The cost of all additional work required by the price item, even though not specifically mentioned shall be included in the price. CONTRACT TIME The contract time for this project shall be 120 consecutive calendar days from the effective date designated in the Notice to Proceed. From the effective date noted in the Notice to Proceed (NTP) letter, the Contractor shall proceed with his preparatory work such as: preparing and forwarding submittals, obtaining approvals, obtaining permits, and other work as approved by the University. No work shall be allowed at the job site and no ordering of materials shall be allowed until receipt of the Notice to Proceed letter, or upon earlier written notice from the University. The Contractor shall be responsible for any airfreight cost or overtime-cost differentials necessary to complete the project within the project contract time. Clarifications The deadline to submit requests for clarification of the requirements of this IFB is on April 17, 2024. All clarification requests shall be submitted online. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS section, and all responses shall be issued in an addendum. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES If the Contractor fails to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or any extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay to the University $ 500.00 per each calendar day of delay. The liquidated damages constitute a reasonable estimate of the actual damages to be incurred by the University and are not meant to be a penalty. BASIS FOR AWARD Bids will be evaluated based on the Total Aggregate Bid (Basic Bid + Additive/Alternate). The award of contract, if awarded, shall be made to the responsive, responsible bidder* submitting the lowest evaluated Total Aggregate Bid.
