The Town of Canterbury is accepting bids for the replacement of the existing cedar shake gable ends and cupola on the municipal building with James Hardie shingle straight edge (7 inch) replacement shingles. The Town is seeking a firm with the experience and expertise to provide professional, timely and cost-effective services for the project. The project is to be completed in accordance with the following requirements: 1. Remove signage 2. Remove and dispose of old materials 3. Supply and install new James Hardie 7" exposure straight edge shingles (color TBD), to meet James Hardie installation specifications including Hardie Wrap 4. Remove and replace rake trim and replace with 8" James Hardie (color to match existing trim) 5. Remove and replace soffit along rake with new vinyl soffit (color to match existing soffit) 6. Clean up of entire work area 7. Reinstall signage The Owner reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids or to enter negotiations with any bidder. The Owner reserves the right to waive any alleged breach of technicality. Modifications: The Owner reserves the right to modify the specifications and rebid the project, if necessary, to meet the Owner's budgetary requirements. Bonds: A Performance Bond in the amount of 100% ofthe contract price is required. Bond must be executed by a surety company licensed to do business at the location of the project. Bids may not be withdrawn for 60 calendar days after receipt of bids. Announcements of bids will be within 7 days of receipt of bids. Bid Determination: Bids will be evaluated on the combination of price, schedule, and the qualifications of the submitting firm. The bid that provides the Town with the best combination of this criteria will be selected.
