Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Langley, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 162,000-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The Langley School District (SD35) invites expressions of interest from people interested in providing the pre-construction and construction services for a future Willoughby Secondary and Middle School. The purpose of the RFEI is to help SD35 determine whether there is sufficient market interest and capacity to proceed to a competitive bidding process for proposed schools. In the event there is sufficient interest in this requirement, SD35 may, but is not obligated to, initiate a competitive bidding opportunity. All SD35 projects are subject to Ministry of Education approval and funding. SD35 will be looking to engage a constructor for a new Secondary School, home to 1,900 students, as well as a Middle School, home to 900 students. The schools will be in the Willoughby Area. The secondary school will be one of the largest in the province of British Columbia. The gross floor area of the secondary would be upwards of 15,000 Sq meters. SD35 is looking for opportunities to expedite site work and keep the project team consistent from pre-construction to final occupancy. SD35 envisions a three-storey facility for both schools, includes 21st century learning, mass timber, accelerated site works, strong understanding of meaningful access for accessibility, and a collaborative constructor seeking to have a long-term relationship with SD35.
