Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Charlevoix, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Pulverizing and paving of the student parking lot on its middle high school campus at 5200 Marion Center Road, Charlevoix, MI 49720 Partial reconstruction of the High School Parking lot as follows: 1. Pulverize existing asphalt to limits designated by the owner. 2. Excavate the concrete collar around the structure, inspect the structure, and re-seal as necessary. Replace existing concrete with a 6" gravel base and 3" HMA paving. 3. Re-grade and compact pulverized base with a minimum 1% drainage plan. Remove any excess pulverized materials as needed. 4. Place new asphalt per the existing layout in two lifts as follows: 1. Leveling course - Tier 1 4EL with PG 58-28 oil and 3% air voids at 165#/syd. 2. Wearing course - Tier 1 5EL with PG 58-28 oil and 3% air voids at 165# / syd. 5. Provide pavement markings per the existing layout and color. 6. The contractor is to provide any required layout/staking. 7. The project to be completed according to MDOT 2020 specifications. 8. The owner may retain 3 rd party inspection and/or perform material sampling/testing as necessary. 9. Owners reserve the right to accept or reject any bids at their sole discretion. Work must be completed on or before August 15, 2024. A single lump sum bid is being requested for the complete project as outlined in the scope of work and attached specifications. Bid quotes are guaranteed for 90 calendar days. T All bids must include a Bid Security for five percent (5%) of the bid amount payable to the Charlevoix Public Schools (CPS) in either the form of a certified bank check or bid bond. If awarded the Contract, the awarded bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price. A certificate of insurance naming the (School District) as an additional insured for commercial general liability insurance must be on file in the Business Office before any work is performed. We also require proof of Worker's Compensation coverage with Charlevoix Public Schools named as a certificate holder. The required policies & certificates are to be endorsed to give the district at least 30 days' notice of cancellation or material reduction of insurance coverage. The preferred General Liability insurance limit is $1,000,000. If you do not have this limit, please send a letter of explanation detailing the reasons you feel your limits are appropriate.
